On Thursday, May 22nd, we gathered under sunny skies with full hearts to celebrate one of our most beloved traditions at Big and Tiny 10th Street Preschool—graduation day.

This special event honors the growth of every child in our school: from our youngest learners stepping up from Little School into our Preschool Program, to our proud Pre-K graduates leaving through The Red Door for the final time, ready to begin their kindergarten journeys.
Graduation at 10th Street is a tradition rooted in over three decades of early childhood excellence here in Santa Monica. It’s a reflection of the enduring values that have shaped generations of children and families. Now, with Big and Tiny’s fresh energy, global perspective, and dual-language curriculum, we are blending tradition with innovation in a way that feels both timeless and new.
This year’s ceremony was a joyful and emotional celebration of community. Families filled our campus—parents, grandparents, cousins, and friends came together in support of our graduates. The sense of connection was palpable as parents shared heartfelt speeches, reflecting on how Big and Tiny 10th Street has not only been a home for their children but also a place where they found support, belonging, and lifelong friendships.
As is tradition, our parent community came together to present a special gift to the school. This year, they gifted a beautifully handcrafted wooden home for our beloved bunnies—a touching symbol of the love and care that defines our shared space.
The children beamed with pride as they accepted their diplomas and turned their tassels. And, as always, our voices rose together in song—singing “Magic Penny,” with its timeless message: "Love is something if you give it away, you end up having more.” It’s a song that perfectly captures the spirit of Big and Tiny 10th Street, where love, care, and community grow through sharing and giving.
To our graduates who are stepping out through The Red Door: you are more than ready. You carry with you the confidence, compassion, and creativity nurtured here. We know you’ll thrive in kindergarten and beyond, and while we will miss your bright energy, we send you off with full hearts and endless pride.
To our teachers: thank you for pouring your hearts and souls into your work every single day. Your dedication, warmth, and unwavering belief in each child is the foundation of everything we do.
And to our families: thank you for showing up, for sharing your stories, and for making our school not just a place of learning—but a true home.
Here’s to new beginnings, lasting connections, and the joyful journey ahead.
With love,
The Big and Tiny 10th Street Team
