Cue the Big and Tiny 10th Street Choir at Montana Holiday Walk!
Last holiday season, Big and Tiny 10th Street was honored to participate in the annual Montana Holiday Walk, joining neighbors, local businesses, families, and community members in celebrating the holiday season along Montana Avenue.
Our tiny performers took the stage as the Big and Tiny 10th Street Choir, sharing a special medley of holiday favorites—including “Hot Chocolate". With bright smiles, excited voices, and plenty of holiday spirit, our children brought a little bit of Big and Tiny magic to the celebration.
Meaningful Opportunity
For our children, the performance was also an exciting opportunity to work toward a shared goal. In the weeks leading up to the event, they practiced new songs, learned movements, listened carefully to one another, and built the confidence to perform in front of an audience. Experiences like these help children develop important skills such as communication, cooperation, memory, self-expression, and confidence—while giving them the opportunity to feel proud of their hard work and accomplishments.
But for us, participating in events like the Montana Holiday Walk is about more than simply performing. We believe that being a preschool means being part of something bigger than our four walls. Our school is a part of the Santa Monica community, and we want our children to experience what it means to contribute, to celebrate and connect with the world around them.
These experiences give children meaningful opportunities to see themselves as active members of the community around them. Whether they are singing for their neighbors, creating something to share, or experiencing a local tradition alongside their families, these moments help foster a sense of connection, confidence and belonging.
Community
Supporting and celebrating our surrounding community has always been an important part of who we are at Big and Tiny 10th Street. We are grateful for opportunities like the Montana Holiday Walk that allow us to step outside the classroom, connect with our neighbors and share the joy and creativity of our children with the wider Santa Monica village.
